I first took an interest in photography as a child growing up in the picturesque Isle of Purbeck in the beautiful English county of Dorset. Inspired by my father (also a keen amateur photographer), I worked initially in monochrome prints, but quickly moved on to taking and manipulating 35mm colour transparencies. I was an ‘early adopter’ of digital photography, and found it a supportive and stimulating tool that allows me to pursue my own individual and creative style based on the recurring themes of pattern, design, colour and texture.
I‘ve been a member of Sheffield Photographic Society and the Castleton & Hope Valley Photographic Society since 2004. Before that I was a member of Worcestershire Camera Club for over twenty years, and I’m one of the founding members of ‘Infinity Plus’, a fine-art photography exhibition group of creative photographers based in the Midlands.
I achieved my ARPS (Associate of the Royal Photographic Society) in 1994.
I live in Malvern / Castleton, and I work at the University of Sheffield.
